Young’s Modulus and Residual Stresses of Oxide-Free Wire Arc Sprayed Copper Coatings

چکیده
Conventional thermal spraying processes are almost exclusively carried out in an air atmosphere, resulting the oxidation of particle surfaces and interfaces within coating between substrate coating. Furthermore, initial process surface activation conventionally takes place preventing oxide-free interfacial transition. Consequently, application materials with high oxygen affinity represents a major challenge. To overcome these issues, present study utilized silane-doped inert gases to create environment which concentration was equivalent residual content extreme vacuum. By transferring corundum blasting (wire arc spraying) this environment, can be applied without occurring. For industrial use, is interesting prospect, e.g., for repair coatings, as homogeneity composite improved by non-oxidized Using example arc-sprayed copper microstructure mechanical properties coatings were analysed. The results showed that oxide-free, wire sprayed exhibited wetting behaviour significant reduction porosity. Moreover, led increase bonding rate apparent Young’s modulus. Contrary expectations, stresses decrease although relaxation mechanisms should inhibited, possible reasons discussed paper.

متن کاملExperimental and Numerical Study of Residual Stress in the WC-12Co HVOF Sprayed Coatings
Thermally sprayed coatings are intrinsically associated with residual stresses in the deposits. These stresses are varied in nature and magnitude, and have a pronounced effect on the mechanical behavior of the system. In the current study, WC-12Co coatings were deposited using HVOF thermal spraying. The sin2ψ method was used to evaluate the through thickness residual stress by means ...
